This the the Blog of professional photographer, Peter Sills.
Frankly, this is my first ever “blog” and I have no idea what I will be putting in here. I only hope that it it interesting enough that whomever you are who is reading this, thinks it worthwhile. I don’t know how often I will be updating it, as I have no idea what I will be putting into it. Assume it will be “ecclectic” then, random if you like.
As for me, I live and work in the Chicago suburban area, but travel almost anywhere a good photograph can be found. I am particularly fond of the American Southwest, where I can often be found as well (though not as often as I would like).
Please feel free to comment in and on these pages as you would like. I am happy to share and to have you help set the tone and direction for this blog.
Hello Peter,
Thanks for the nice and interresting read.
I’m considering a 5Dm2-24/105L. The Nex-7 kept me from buying it yet.
Do you happen to have a or some sidebyside shots?
Regards,
Al
I have some, but they are currently buried in over 3,000 shots. It will be some time before I unearth them. If you are looking simply for quality, the 5D MkII with the 24-105L will take a better photo (it should as it costs almost twice as much). The question is your type of shooting and will you be carrying the 5D II with you when you want to shoot or not. The point is that the NEX-7 is 90% at half the cost and less than half the weight and bulk.
For example, I could compare an 80mpixel back to the 5D MkII and the Canon would loose out on almost every quality metric; but does it matter? Depends on your needs and style of shooting.
Wow your photography is amazing!
